United Way of Danville Area is pleased to announce Angie Lazzell as the organization’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Lazzell, former annual fund coordinator at OSF Healthcare Foundation, brings more than 15 years of experience in fundraising, marketing, and special event management to the position.

“I am honored to have been chosen as the CEO of United Way of Danville Area,” said Lazzell. “I am deeply committed to building on the organization’s legacy of making a real difference in the lives of individuals and families within our community. Together, with the support of our volunteers and generous stakeholders, I am confident we can continue to drive positive change and create a brighter future for all.”

The organization is looking forward to a promising new chapter under Lazzell’s leadership. Lazzell succeeds previous CEO, Mary Surprenant, who played a pivotal role in advancing United Way of Danville Area’s mission during her tenure.

Angie Lazzell told Neuhoff Media that she wants to maintain the pace set by Mary Surprenant.

AUDIO: Mary’s done a great job, and I just want to continue on all the progress that she’s made already and move it forward. So hopefully we can continue with maybe some legacy donors, and creating an endowment. That’s some of the things we’d like to focus on.

Coming up Friday, September 15th will be Neuhoff Media’s annual United Way of Danville Radiothon.

AUDIO: That’s where we kick off the campaign and work with some of our pace setter donors; some of the folks that have committed early from the workplace campaigns. So, we’ve met with some of those folks already. We’ve got Mervis Industries and Danville Metal Stamping, so they’re some of the ones that have already given commitments to us this year.

United Way of Danville Area serves Vermilion County, IL as well as Fountain and Warren County, IN by responding to the needs of our local communities while simultaneously addressing the root causes of key issues. United Way organizations across the nation inspire and unite the power of individuals, businesses, and the public and nonprofit sector to advance common community goals.
